In curved screen printing, printing pressure is one of the core factors that determine product quality. Excessive pressure can easily lead to blurred ink accumulation (commonly known as "paste"), and too little pressure can lead to lack of ink or unclear patterns. Especially when the stress on both ends of the curved workpiece is uneven, it will cause "one end is light and the other is heavy" quality problems -5. Mastering scientific pressure adjustment methods is the key to ensuring the quality of curved surface printing.

1. Core elements of pressure adjustment

The pressure adjustment of the curved screen printing machine is not a single operation, but a systematic project that requires the coordination of multiple parameters:

Parallelism calibration: Ensuring that the three layers of the guide rail, printing plate and working platform are parallel is the prerequisite for uniform pressure distribution. It is usually tested with a micrometer and the error is controlled within 0.03mm -1.

Screen distance setting: The distance between the screen plate and the surface of the workpiece is generally kept at 2-5mm. If it is too small, it will cause smear, and if it is too large, the printing will not be clear -8-5. The optimal value -1 can be determined through fine-tuning of the platform lifting screw and pressure testing.

Pneumatic pressure control: Most equipment adjusts the scraper pressure through a pressure regulating valve. Rotate it clockwise to increase the pressure and counterclockwise to decrease it. Observe the pressure gauge to reach the target value (usually the working air pressure is 0.5-0.6 MPa) -1-8.

Squeegee angle and length: The squeegee inclination angle can be 45° for fine printing, and can be adjusted to 60°-85°-1-7 for solid printing. The length of the scraper needs to match the width of the pattern. If it is too long, it will easily cause pressure dispersion -1.

2. Special treatment for surface characteristics

The particularity of curved printing lies in the pressure changes caused by the curvature of the workpiece surface. For products such as hollow plastic bottles, the two ends are subject to greater stress during printing and are prone to denting in the middle. The air pipe can be connected to the clamp, and after the product is inserted, it will be inflated to enhance the internal support -2. For solid workpieces such as curved wooden handles, special attention must be paid to the pressure balance at both ends, and uniform printing can be achieved by fine-tuning the pressure on one side -5.

3. Judgment and treatment of abnormal pressure

Oil paste (excessive pressure): Stop the machine to clean the screen and workpiece surface, check whether the screen distance is too small, raise the screen appropriately and reduce the printing pressure -5.

No oil or unclear pattern (pressure is too small): Check the brush position, increase the printing pressure appropriately, and ensure that the stencil is in full contact with the workpiece -5.

In actual operation, it is recommended to use the "semi-automatic" mode for debugging first, so that it can be stopped at any time to check the effect and adjust parameters. After confirmation, it can be switched to the "automatic" mode for mass production.
